Blonde & Blonder: It's A No Art Director

Blonde & Blonder PSD
I usually feel that comedy movies get something of a free pass when it comes to Photoshop. The standard I'd expect from Vogue doesn't really apply to them.

However, I don't think I'm being unreasonable when I say that there has to be a certain point where you have to say "This is abysmal. The hopeless inadequacy of your work is insulting to even the stupidest people. Please stop now."

Thanks to Victor, original is here!

The girls look like south park characters, and the skyline is absolutely amazing.

flmumb said...

Not even saying anything about the atrocity of the women, look at the airplanes on the left.

nycnftmx said...

It appears to be a movie about two stupid girls. One of them is an art director

flmumb said...

P.S. The movie poster is just as bad, if not worse.

I saw this at the video store a while back but was sans camera. It is so bizarre looking!

The best part is that if you turn it over and look at the pictures on the back they clearly used the same picture of Pam Anderson and switched out the body again. Like there aren't enough pictures of her for some variety.

Manny said...

I love how the airplane at the gate is only several feet from the runway. And the planes colliding?

Cheza said...

So bad XDD. Love the commentary.

Brett said...

I have to agree that the poster is worse.
So many things wrong, but I'll take the shadows (all of them) as the worse offense.

I thought that's How Pamela and Denise really look.

you gotta love the smoke! At least they tried...sorta.

kapster said...

Agreed. The movie poster is even worse:

Well never mind, it doesn't seem to provide enough space for me to post an entire link.

What the... I am at a loss for words at the horribleness of everything in both this picture and the movie poster. What idiot...? The car doesn't even have a back end in the movie poster! Baaaaaah! /Raving Rabbid

Alayna said...

This has to be one of the worst, ever! It's just a trainwreck, I can't look away...

Lisa said...

It's the same dress, just flipped. And the weird little wrists coming from the sleeves? Ew.

The Sophisticate's Diary said...

I'll take a wild guess that the photoshopping is of a similar standard to the film.

The Mushroom said...

I think the characters in the movie did the box art.

omentum said...

It gets even stranger... Amazon.com has yet another version of the cover:

They would make good bobblehead dolls.

FreakyTee said...

From the looks of those bobbleheads i would say that the movie is an all-brainer.

This is one of the worst things ever featured here, and yet there are STILL people complaining. Yeah, jayce, we know it's been noticed before, the movie came out almost a year ago.

Tom Harding said...

Jayce, that site a blatant ripoff. Stop moaning you tard.

I have to agree though, this is one of the worst PS disasters ever put on here.

Wow... I'm just... looking at this and... wow.

All I can think is maybe someone was going for some look? Like this was a style? Even if it's bad?

Okay, it's probably just bad.

Wow.

pajuaba said...

They could change the name of the movie to Blunt and Blunter

a definite fail

Bill's Bayou said...

It's as if it never occured to the producer to have a promotional photo shoot during the filming.

Then again, maybe he was asked the question "Don't you think we should have a promotional photo shoot for the movie?" and his answers were one of the following:

"Why commit any more of this to film? I just want to forget this movie ever happened."

"Nah. My 14-year-old nephew has a pirated copy of Photoshop. He'll do the promo work for free."

"Were we making a movie?"

ChrisOquist said...

Hahaha that's just ridiculous. Although, I'm surprised no one has raised the possibility that it was intentionally done. Doesn't seem beyond the realm of reason - does look like a stupid/silly movie..

lillerik said...

Gotta love the smoke :)

Evelyn said...

Doesn't look bad enough to be on purpose. Finally! an epic disaster!

Diavo said...

Furthermore, judging by the shades of their hair colors and their position L&R, the movie should probably be renamed to "Blonde and Less-Blonde" as the chick on the right is more of a light brunette! ;P ;P

libwitch said...

oh my god. there are so many things wrong with that I keep hoping I am drunk - its the only thing that would cause my eyesight to do these things.

Shanllee said...

Yeah, the airplanes are awful, but I'm more worried about their KNEES.

Urbane Legend said...

What really staggers me is: why does it need to be 'shopped at all? They actually HAVE HIRED ACTRESSES to be in the film. It's a MOVIE. Why not just get the actresses to POSE together?

donner_froh said...

I may be the only person in the world to admit to having watched this movie--or at least the first 20 minutes of it, which was all I could stand.

It is as bad as the box art featured here would indicate.

mitkko said...

well it's art comapred to this on - http://doiop.com/6lipd3

KeViN said...

hahah jeez!!! LOVE the lighting--- NOT! And the whole background ZOMG

Is anything real in this picture. I don't think so.

Gallifrey said...

same dress, reverse image!

nsa said...

i guess it is really a no-brainer as the tag line said

kris said...

I´m inclined to belive that this was actually a botched attempt at caricature. Nothing that horrible can be completly unintentional.

Those weirdly twisted bodies and exaggerated propotions actually remind me a lot of the late Jack Davies´s art in Mad magazine. If the photoshopper only had the guts to warp the faces the same way he warps the bodies, this could have been hilarious, and it IS supposed to be a comedy after all.

bigmidget2x said...

It's a no-brainer. Of course.
Pamela Anderson and the other blonde just ODed on plastic surgery and got these incredible 2d arms because that's the fashion nowadays. Duh. Stupid blog.

:)

Miss Misfire said...

Adding to everything else wrong with the thing, look at the horizon: the girls are either giants or floating above the ground.

TMHunter said...

Simple! The movie was shot (and killed, hopefully) in the uncanny valley!

mikeroo said...

The disaster is that the arms from the shoulders don't match the arms that go in the back.

Aeroplano Modello said...

Frankly, this is surreal.
A cross between Disney, and America's Goriest Surgical Procedures.
Frightening.
