The size disparity is obviously intentional, as it's using exaggeration to sell the product - the disaster is in the low-quality 'shopping done to put the oversized cone in her hand.

Not really a PS Disaster, just a typo on the box. This is actually a single 30 Scoop Ice Cream Cone. Seriously though, the kid looks she just stubbed her toe or something. That is not the face of a child holding a year's worth of ice cream in a single cone.

hej, it's just marketing and I'm sure it helps sell lotsa ice cream. It's intended for little kids who couldn't care less if you made it with photoshop or crayon.
On the other hand, her fingers could use some shadows so it feels like shes actually holding the cone, but kids won't stop for that. Nor moms for that matter.
This is why designers should never ever touch photoshop! How these people gets the jobs, more to the point WHY? Did the art director look through this guy's portfolio and think 'Yup, love the way your work is SHIT. It's just the right kind of message I want to send!'

I believe the inclusion of these images are a result of a slight "quantity above quality" mindset. I'd rather have one GOOD PsD a week, than one "meh" a day...
Have to say, I pass that product at Coles every now and then and always feel somewhat bewildered. I realise they have two choices -- 1: To make it look like it's so wow so having no choice but to oversize the cone and by putting a kid on there or 2: Have the actual size modelled by someone older but in the process showing how small the things are. Think I'd go for the former.

Not every PsD has to be an extra limb. This is a disaster because it's done so poorly. Look at her arms, her hands, her face. Yes, the giant cone is intentional, but it's a hack job.

It's like part of an advertising joke. Like their ice cream cone are really big. I think it's a clever idea.

Meh, it's COLES which in here Australia is a supermarket or market or whatever the fuck you guys call your large food chains over there. This is a Home brand product, it's done on the cheap, not as if they give a shit WHAT it looks like, they are gonna sell HEAPS more of the COLES brand than the more expensive brands even if they put a pic of a dog licking it's testicles on the front of the box,trust me, I buy them.

Yes, the fact that the ice cream cone is larger than her torso is intentional. But the way the two parts of the image were put together was very poorly done. Unless the giant cone also levitates itself, because those hands obviously aren't holding it.
