There's more wrong with her than just that. She looks like a dressmaker's dummy with the pelvis minimized and the chest maximized. O_o weird.
You don't understand. Her arms are connected, as a string. The weight of the bag pulls from one arm, shortening the other, while enlarging the neck and deforming the torso in the process.
My puppet can do that.
I love the blog, but I think sometimes we get confused about what people can and can't do. Seems like all of the major shopped/not-shopped arguments revolve around models (who generally have atypical bodies).
Looks like her hair coverage is throwing people off about the relative sizes of her arms. I think her shoulders are much higher than many people are assuming.

weekwaster, just...no. measure from the left elbow to where you think that left shoulder is. now do that again on the right side from where we can actually see the shoulder, up to the elbow. those measurements are not the same unless you are placing her invisible shoulder somewhere in her neck.

I'm impressed. Never in a million years would I have guessed that was Lindsay Lohan.
On top of the majorly deformed arm her neck isn't right either. It's either been elongated or her hair has been badly messed with as hair doesn't hang like that.
What I don't understand is why anyone would mess with the arm in the first place to have to make it shorter. I wonder if some photoshop artists do things on purpose either to see how blind ad agencies are or maybe to get revenge at not being paid properly!
I don't understand why this Lohan skank is "the face" of anything. This is an ad for intensely excessive makeup, not clothing, and I can't understand how a teenybopper could see this icon as a person to emulate. Maybe mallrats with 18 inch necks...

@weekwaster: There is absolutely nobody with muscle structure can do what she's apparently doing with her right arm. Especially the twist to put her fist in that position.
The shadow of her left arm has revealed an inconspicuous mass! She should have that checked out.

The hair/neck interaction is quite strange. It looks like her hair is falling into a void where the left half of her neck should be.

The left arm is plausible, but there really is something amiss with the right arm. Way too short between the shoulder and elbow, and the hand just isn't right.
@screamingmimi90, the fingertips aren't cut off. What appears to be a void is the bottom surface of the shoe heel.

man you got a distorted sense of human proportions. your green lines are really fudged up. Use the elbow as a starting point, not the arms contour, fer cryn out loud!
i also don't see a disaster here.. i think she is lying on the ground and her her was arranged so that it looks like it does now..
OK, here's my theory:
Lindsay have started taking guitar lessons. Even though the 'SG' she has is not a long scale guitar and it's rather flat neck profile actually lends it very well for girl's hands in general, she got frustrated and had her left arm extended so she could get into a better position with it. When you're rich and live in a bubble you can do these things. They took a piece of bone and flesh from her right arm to do it (that arm will still extend down to the strings). The PS guy did actually remove the logo on the headstock. Don't they know "Gibson" gives cred??? Or perhaps it was just a chep no-brand copy - since they ended up smashing it. As seen in the later photos, she gave up.
That's not even the worst psd in that ad...there are several really glaringly awful efforts later on. If you can bear it that long.

If this is the case, it's still a really badly set-up photo in order to have the appearance of such distortion.
Also, I just tried that and I can do the pose, but I do still think they have messed with her elbow to make it stick out less, hence inadvertently shortening her arm.
I also think that when they blew up her right boob, they've squished the arm a little in that process.

In a relaxed position the top of your shoulder - all our shoulders - line up with the collarbone. Look in the mirror: feel for that little U shaped bone at the bottom of your throat. See where your shoulders are.
If you lift your right arm up to emulate Lohan's left (in the mirror), the shoulder rises, as per your illustration. But if you bend your right (her left) the top of her shoulder will remain at the level of the collar bone. That's where your illustration fails - you've lifted her right shoulder up so that it is about level with her larynx. This can barely be done even with hunching, which she isn't doing. Her right upper arm has been drastically shortened; and frankly the turn of her right elbow looks pretty painful - though I'd normally let something like that go.
There are plenty of examples on this site of improbable but possible poses that are worth arguing the toss over. This is not one of them.
I'm with myxstew on this one. "Slowhand" Clapton and "Shortarm" Lohan - can't you just see the marketing opportunities there?.

In the website there are other pictures where she has the same pose, only the hair isn't covering her shoulder, and you can see that she actually did this contortions as part of her modeling session.
There's nothing wrong with this picture. There's a lot wrong with Lindsay Lohan, though, haha!

morgedoid wtf are you talking about? both those green lines start, in fact, at each of her elbows. those green lines are exactly the same length, showing that her left shoulder would have to be somewhere in the vicinity of her jawline to make her arms match. even if those lines were laying on top of her arms instead of next to them, this would be the case.

It's been edited, fo sho; but the majority of the reactions here are to the contortion of lilo; ye I'd find it hard to believe her arm hasn't been messed with, but its really not as much of a drastic change as you seem to think. Simply drawing lines on the photo doesn't prove anything; you're assuming no perspective and no angles (other editing you probably haven't even noticed could contribute, such as a bad edit on her chest 'changing' the apparent angle of her shoulders for example) ... life isn't 2D, just cause its a photo on your screen don't trick yourself into believing this isn't 'nearly' possible. Never taken or seen a genuine photo that just looks messed up due to the lighting or angle? Imagine that with a bit of poorly directed work done on it; this is what you get. So lets calm down with the extreme reactions to a mild but poorly judged edit.
Horrible photography though, and a poor edit job. Either way this is a disaster.

well, dont you laugh now, but i tried this out in front of the mirror, and yes, it works: you can easily put your arm up like this and your clinched-to-your-body-arm appears then somehow shortened: i9 am only asumming that she is lying down i order for the bag to float like this and for her head to look that realxed (you tend to look down, when holding somehing over your head normally and she looks like she is leaning comfortably against her arm. so this is the first time i have to say: SORRY, I THINK YOU ARE WRONG

Holy cow, what have they done to Lindsay Lohan's FACE? That is such a PsD.
...Anyway, I'm positive there's at least one PsD in this picture, because it hurts my brain, but I'm not sure what it is. Her impossibly-shaped right bicep certainly stands out, but there's no way her chest is that big...unless it's something to do with the dress.
Her left arm also seems too large, particularly because she has her long neck extended. I can't replicate that pose, but maybe I just have short arms. And isn't she missing the definition of her collarbones or neck? That part above her dress's neckline looks unnaturally smooth to me.
I'm going to have to take those warning on links seriously. The music was as painful on my ears as the site was on my eyes.
Funny arms... and chest -- aside, this is so photoshoped I didn't even realize it was her at first.
