Above and beyond the cardboard figures (which is probably how the actors are in the movie), I like how the leaves on the trees perfectly outline her hairline. BRA-VO.
So the dog's tongue is right next to her cheek, but his forefeet are about eight inches in front of her body, and yet he's perfectly upright, and so is she.
Word verification: phooti, a layered combination of "photoshop disaster" and "phooey"
Is it really that hard to get a dog and make it kiss a girl exactly the right angle on the cheek and take a photo of it??? Well ok yeah it probably is.
My personal favourite thing is the use of the free transform > rotate tool.
And the dude's face is halfway through her skull. I wonder if they made the movie without the male and female leads ever actually being filmed in a scene together?
I can't wait till this trend ends. You know the one where some idiot in marketing feels the audience needs to see every important actor in the movie on the movie poster/box in a "cute" and "thematic" scene, no matter what the cost to dignity or physics. Romantic comedies tend to suffer from this a lot.
It's funny tho, if you watch the preview they have a funky little line drawing of the dog which would look great as a poster. That, along with the name would be gurantee me picking up the box to read what it was about.
additional: that tounge is a horrific addition and where is the dog standing? is it jumping? is it about to fall on her lap, can it walk on it's backlegs?
I think the most irritating thing about this is it's "the story about a man, a woman, and the dog that stands between them". Why do i laugh when i look at the photo. hahaha.
Not to mention the sizing of the dog is way out of scale, and I don't believe the man is in the original either. The original poster from IMDB is better (standing on the letters), but still a PSD (not to mention it's a totally different dog's head). The main image on the official site too... do they have a graphic artist in this company?
Oh, we don't have any publicity photos for the film? Oh noes.. but not a problem. Here, we'll take this photo and this photo and this photo. There. All done. Oh, it looks flat and cutout? Oh! Well, ask the publicity department to take actual photos next time. This is as good as it gets for this flick!
They really should make use of the Blur Tool, around the edges @ 1 or 2 %, makes all the difference. But I guess it's not like they're getting paid beaucoup bucks...

Also the dog's eyes are freakish and human-like, which I believe is a Not Enough Photoshop Disaster.
Also it appears to be a movie about bestiality.
Can we also point out the obvious missed opportunity to pay attention to the tagline and, you know, ACTUALLY PUT THE DOG BETWEEN THEM?
My dog can do that.

The dog is floating!
Three words:
Straight to DVD
My girlfriend (a dog) can do that.
"Three words:
Straight to DVD"
Is DVD a word?
Verification: imisper. I misper at the sight of this comp job. Whatever that means.
Appart from the cardboard style and the horrendous rendering. I can't stop laughing with the catchline...
Wouldn't it have been wiser to put the characters as they are supposed to stand according to the sentence (A boy, a girl, and the dog BETWEEN them ?)
Oh, my mistake ! The dog IS in the center and the girl on the right. Only they have been disastrously photoshoped !!
Apparently, the Publicity Department forgot to take any pictures of the cast with the dog:
Like So.
And So.
And the dude's face is halfway through her skull. I wonder if they made the movie without the male and female leads ever actually being filmed in a scene together?
The actual title of the movie is bad enough to ensure straight-to-DVD.
@Walter
Yeah, I highly recommend using Safe Search in Google Image Search when you type in "heavy+petting."

This thing? I'd avoid by about 20 feet.
this isn't a photoshop disaster, these new hollywood diets are just getting the actors/actresses even skinnier.
The artiste only forgot to replace the floating words that the doggie is really standing on. See mike.burchette's above example #1.
WTF is an arm ankle?
Ankles are on legs, not on arms!
fair call pootpoot, I don't know if DVD is really one word or three. Thing is, 'straight to video' would make me sound old!
But dear God, this is just an awful, awful cover.
Yeah total PSD! Malin Akerman has too much depth in this image. What is up with that expression anyway?
Which one is Kevin? The dog?
She's Brendan apparently.
Think the dog might originally have been lying down!
it looks like an half-done work leaked on the web.
the finished one must be the (hideous, but less than this) the one mike.burchett linked above.
I think she's the one getting in between the love of the man and the dog
don't you think they should have got a graphic designer to do the poster?
it looks like a bad parody of a bad layout with bad colour correction composition typography and content.
additional: that tounge is a horrific addition and where is the dog standing? is it jumping? is it about to fall on her lap, can it walk on it's backlegs?
Ahahahahaha! Frisky dog!

wv: sprized
The cardboard dog's tongue seems abnormally long, too-- more Cootie Bug than canine.

Netflix uses this version.

The dog is trying to put his paws on her tits...but wait! They are two dimensional! His paws flail in thin air!
Attempted bestiality fail. lmao
they even gave the dog a dropshodow lol!
HAHAHAHA!
This is great.
Pootpoot... DVD is a word. And I can't believe I actually looked that up. I'm officially a nerd.
Passport Foodie
photoshop on the cheap technique: when you can't spend the time to blend fine hair with a new background.. use an OUTER GLOW!
@mike.burchett: Yeah, I had the same problem when I tried to shop online for a male-to-male video cable. Yikes.
"fair call pootpoot, I don't know if DVD is really one word or three. Thing is, 'straight to video' would make me sound old!"
Good thing you can now say "straight to blueray" - that's certainly three words and it makes you sound hip! Sort of. I guess. ;)
LOVE IT!
OMG they flipped the dog!! Look at the black circle around its eyes!
Oh no, there's another even worse image here.

This is more than just a photoshop disaster... this movie sounds like a disaster in general.
WV: dizattat, slang for 'damn awful disaster'
That woman, it is clear to see, was photoshopped in.
Obviously the man and dog were kissing in the original photo.
Omg, horrible. xD
First thought: oh... no!
Second thought: is this animal porn?
May be the dog is a girl and thats who the guy wants to be with?
So is the dog Malin Ackerman, Brendan Hines, or Kevin Sussman? Also that's the biggest Jack Russell I've ever seen.
Yeah, I highly recommend using Safe Search in Google Image Search when you type in "heavy+petting."
But it's this sort of monstrosity I want Safe Search to protect me from.
stephnie weir has taken some career missteps
