SYNOPSIS: When a storm threatens their studio, a struggling Junior Art Director (Zac Efron) and a beautiful but retarded intern (Paris Hilton) must do the job of an entire art department. Are they up to the challenge?
Odd angle on the shot, obviously distorted for effect ... stylised composition. It may not be to your taste, but its not a 'disaster'. Unless I'm missing a third eye or an extra limb?
Yep, I think it works. Distortions in reality are inherently scary. And all the poster has to do in this case is be scary and identify the direct-to-dvd crap you want to steer clear of.
I can see it being an intentional style, though I don't think I would ever want to see that movie. Is the lack of boobs the scary part? The flat hairy looking legs don't help.
Maybe her skeleton was stolen by the Skeleton Crew.
Gotta love that tag-line, huh? Has to be a Seinfeld reference but what exactly is it promising? No sequel for the actress or just no sequel? Because promising no sequel on the poster might not be the most shrewd marketing ploy.
The movie (which I've had the unfortunate experience of seeing) is a disaster.
The DVD cover/poster isn't. I'm not saying it's all that good, but the distortions and overloaded effects are there to add an aesthetic quality congruent with the movie.
There are scenes that share the same distorted perspective effect via the camera lens.
How can you say it's not a disaster? What about the oversized head, lack of chest area, stumpy arms and legs almost wider than the aforementioned oversized head?
Sure the head may be enlarged for 'in your face effect' and the legs warped, but in the grunge style of the poster this does not = PSD, if it was a perfume or make-up ad then, well.
The only real disaster here is the faux film plot and cast included in the blurb to describe this supposed 'disaster'.
P.S There a a few phrases on this blog that have JUMPED THE SHARK . .
1: any comment regarding 'home schoolers'
2: and of course "my girlfriend can do that" quips.
why is it no one understands that it can be intentional and STILL be a disaster? i mean, i don't think ANY of them were doing PS to the photo by accident. if it looks BAD is it a disaster.

Without mentioning the Colossal sized head, the legs are all wrong
I ain't able to comment properly these day due to shear... *facepalm*
Whatever... let's move on!
My homeschooled movie cover can do that
so, she's a midget?
hehe...nah its badly distorted around her abdomen/legs...
my word verification is: butsib
Ow, nasty lap/legs combo
Might not be accidental. It is a horror movie.
No, seriously, I think you're dealing with a different set of boundaries.

I don't know, I'm too scared to look at it again.
Hehe. Naw, lack of boobs is definitely scary.
great font! (trying to keep things positive here)
Not a disaster? She has no torso!!
word ver.: Forsho

Did no one else notice that it looks like the side of her left thigh has been chopped off?
I am not an animal! I am a human being!
(No offense to Merrick--his legs were tragically disfigured by disease. What's this woman's excuse?)
sweet, i didn't realize kat von dee had been in a movie after she had her legs cut off and reattached.
"...a struggling Junior Art Director (Zac Efron) and a beautiful but retarded intern (Paris Hilton)..."
You are cold and heartless. I like that. I like that very much.
horror :)
the skeleton is way too big.. the distortion makes this poster scarier.. good job then..

@Kath
That's what distortion is.
@Haily(noun)
That's called a shadow.
Looks like they tortured one of those girls from a Steve Madden ad.
It doesn't look scary or weird in a good way. It just looks dumb.
She is sitting on a chair, so it might have something to do with the proportions.
"No sequel for you!" - Sequel Nazi
Yeah, she is strapped to a chair, in fact, and someone is shooting it with a camera. I guess that might be a clue to the plot.
@N
Distortion, yes. Done incredibly badly.
Cutting out an entire section of torso= disaster.
"Distortion": the new catch-all excuse for dreadful PS work?
I love the way her thighs work in reverse perspective and get more gigantic the further away they are, whilst her chest gets tinier the nearer it is.
Yes its distortion, but not a good kind of distortion. I don't think they were going for the kind of effect they got, which to me = disaster
Yeah, the picture is defenetly messed up. Her right art is wrong, and her left leg is way off.

It's not a disaster. She's clearly a little person.
i cant tell exactly what i'm looking at.
Wow. I didn't know Oompa-Loompas still got work, outside of the Chocolate Factory.
why is it no one understands that it can be intentional and STILL be a disaster? i mean, i don't think ANY of them were doing PS to the photo by accident. if it looks BAD is it a disaster.
It is commercial and it is awful. It goes here.
Just because they were going for a non-realistic look doesn't mean it isn't a disaster when they fail so miserably.
I like girls with giant heads and tiny bodies. Is that wrong?
Passport Foodie
I agree with gwy9etc and Kasey...no matter how intentional this was it still looks silly. PsD.
Nice artwork!
