Toast Chee: Ants Probably The Least Of Your Problems

On a totally unrelated note, if you're selling your services as a search engine optimization expert, you probably want to do something more effective than posting links in blog comments, especially on hopeless blogs like this one. I mean, really, do you think that people will see your tragically desperate posts and think, "Wow, I'd really like these people to publicize my site. They must be geniuses."
I hate to be one of those not-a-disaster people, but this does look to be an intentionally "zany" design, putting the head and back-pocket package out of proportion.
I think this is on purpose. I've been seeing a lot of freakishly huge-headed people in ads lately. The local bus service has one poster with a bunch of giant-headed hipsters with huge stretched-out Joker grins, giving (wrong) advice on how to ride the bus while standing up.
Not only is her head ballooned out, but "I've got Lance in my pants" is the worst motto ever. Especially if you happen to have a friend named Lance. And I do.
Maybe try branching out a little. Call the site Photoshop Disasters 'N' Stuff. Expand to bad uses of crashing squirrel, silly avatars, crummy animated gifs, poorly-spelled Tweets...
As someone else said, the extra small wheel on the "truck/van" is freaking me out more. That's a blowout waiting to happen right in front of me on an interstate.
You know, this is *all kinds of wrong.* Starting with the fact that I don't want anything having to do with crackers, *in* or *near* my pants. It's just... gross.
the small tire belongs on these local delivery trucks. You don't need anything heavy duty; there's the equivalent of 94 pounds of potatoes in that truck and it's FILLED.
For some of us, it's a surprise that Lance advertises their snackies at all. They're what you find in the vending machine when known brands of cheesy or "peanut butter" filled crackers are missing.
"got Lance in my pants" -- can read this two ways: a) a nerdy guy finally got his wish; b) huh huh huh, huh huh huh, park this next to the lumber hauling truck with the sign on the side that says "got wood?"
VW: donstico - what I often say to the Lance in my pants
Are you sure it's Toasted Chee? I used to eat those crackers as a kid, and I'm pretty sure the package said "Toast and Cheese" or "Toasted Cheese". But even then, the toasted cheese flavor was a regular cracker color, not orange.
Even if it is intentional, they failed to make it obvious that it was intentional. If you are going to break the rules on how people are represented, you've got to be good at it.
Are Lance and Toast-Chee really not as common everywhere else as they are here? I had no idea - although I can't say I've ever really thought about it.
Ye, intentional distortion and stylised comp aside; it's still a very badly executed job; so this one I'm agreeing on.
And in reference to the posted links in the blog; it's not for people to click on; it's for spiders to pass through. Pure SEO, not active marketing, they're not calls-to-action, and if you don't like them, get a better SPAM filter. Just to clear that one up.
No, they think their potential customers won't see it, but search engine bots will just count up the number of links to their site and push their site up the rankings.
Never mind the head: Her right arm has been stuck through her neck and her left arm has been amputated. That's bad photoshop. God only knows what they used to put the typography together. Some Braille application no doubt.
If it were just a cartoonish giant head it would make sense. But her upper body is huge compared to her pants. It's like she's been lensed. That's why this looks more like a Photoshop disaster than an intentional exaggeration.
But hey, the SEO genius inserted a "rel='dofollow'" attribute to cancel out the "nofollow" one. That works, right? I mean, the guy must know what he's doing. He makes money online! ;-)

Other than having odd proportions, am I missing something here?
My van can do that.
okay, i need a clue. what's wrong?
Besides generally being a disaster of an image, is the brand actually "Toast Chee" ?
Okay, a tiny bit of digging and... it is really Toast Chee... wow.
My eyes hurt. Why'd they do that to the poor girl?
I can't believe there are people asking what's wrong ... have they ever met someone with a head that big? O_o
Also, 'lance in my pants'? If that isn't the worst double-entendre in advertising history, I don't know what is.
It’s also grammatically wrong. That's a losing argument given the state of advertising these days, innit?
I think it's disproportionate on purpose... kind of like a characterture. But yea, it's pretty wacky.

It's a style that's all over these days. They did it the way it's supposed to be. It's fugly, and disturbing as hell, but there's no mistake here.
Girlrat: There's similar ones around here, selling cell phones.
This image will start her long career as a supermodel that's for sure.
So apart from insanely overlarge head, did anyone catch the fucked-up level of jagged edge on the packet? Come on guys, seriously?
Also INSANELY TINY WHEEL ON VERY LARGE BUS. Not PS obviously but WHAT
Sadly, I actually have an Uncle Lance.
For me, this campaign is wrong, wrong, wrong on so many twisted levels.
Even worse?! Word Verification: imate
Bobble-head is a fad that can't go away fast enough.
Is it a bus? Or is this one of those sign trailers?

Oh, you mean I am not supposed to click on all those random links that show up in every tenth post?
This internet stuff is hard.
vw: fordi, which is what I drive-i

Here Here on the misplaced advertising...
They leave links in the hopes that google will see yet another site linking to them and boost their relevancy rating.
Are you sure it's Toasted Chee? I used to eat those crackers as a kid, and I'm pretty sure the package said "Toast and Cheese" or "Toasted Cheese". But even then, the toasted cheese flavor was a regular cracker color, not orange.
Ahhh, I'm overanalyzing! My bad.
Those advertising people should stop playing with their Bratz dolls. Now.

Well they're sadly deluded, because the links have a "rel='nofollow'" attribute, so google will ignore them.
Looks intentional to me.
Funny illustration

PSD's I've been following your blog for a while, and I must say I love the constant stream of disasters you bring me!
As a side note:
"Wow, I'd really like these people to publicize my site. They must be geniuses."
You should make a new DO NOT HIRE links bar and include anyone who does that.
I know that girl...
Excellent head!

This looks more like a marketing fail than a Photoshop disaster.
Check out this movie poster disaster :

(Sorry to be OT)
Is 'Lance' supposed to rhyme with 'pants' in this ad?
@gracky: never heard of either of them here in NZ
Heres two other pics of a van wit the same ad campaign.

Someone entered the NBA Jam 'Big Heads' code.
I would like to know that girl. I can't imagine how much information she could have inside!
That's the same link twice, Tim. You can't fool us.
It's not a bus, it's a van.
No, they think their potential customers won't see it, but search engine bots will just count up the number of links to their site and push their site up the rankings.
This MIGHT just be a throwback to those Steve Madden ads... and by "throwback" I mean ripped off style.
Doesn't matter if it was done on purpose or not. It's still a disaster!
Disaster (noun): a great failure.
@curvature: I can't speak for anywhere else in the world, but here in Philadelphia, "Lance" does indeed rhyme with "pants."
That's not a woman! Didn't you read her statement? She's got a lance in her pants: a great stride for transexual-oriented snack foods everywhere!
Obviously it is intentional. It is also hideous and disturbing. Thus, a disaster.
As I said in the ice cream cone picture. No poor photoshop mainly overaxaduration.

Love the copy. "Lance in my pants." Seriously!?
