As you know, Transparentes Sichtfeld is German for "this is a placeholder for a transparent window please don't forget to make it transparent when it goes to print."
Perhaps they couldn't figure out transparency so they thought they'd try printing a Jedi mind trick-type instruction on there instead? It doesn't work on us, of course.
Well, considering it's japanese (i think) rice in an english/french labled bag and the notice is in yet a 4th language, I can see the printshop not reading it correctly...
I think I like it in the solid color rather than a window. The picture of the rice would get lost with the rice in the bag showing. But, come on. How did this get past anyone?
Darwin Survivor> Not japanese, chinese rice. And "riz de jasmin" doesn't mean anything in french. Well, it means something but it is a grammar disaster (or maybe we can extract rice from jasmin, who knows ?)
@Darwin Survivor: where do you see Japanese and English? I just see German (the main language) and French. Ticky-tacky "Japanese" font for German words (Reis) doesn't count as Japanese!
The "Sichtfield" is indeed transparent: the rice inside is pink! No PSD. I'm getting tired of this. Credit to those in the package design business who actually try to help the general public.
For some reason germans seem to lack the understanding that non german people don't speak german. If you look around the internet, lots german projects targeted for a worldwide audience still have documentation, foruns, etc... in german.
I'm not sure if you didn't get the "polish joke" that is going on here, but that was one racist comment! Wow congrats you idiot!
P.S.: The "polish joke" is making fun of stupid people who thought Poland is some kind of extra-racist country because of one photoshop disaster. Read the discussion to that post and you'll see who!
Marco Lopes: Who gives a shit? Almost nobody bothers to translate documentation etc. anymore.
Also, german is an offical language in six countries and the third most learned language of the world and 80 million non-native speakers. Just thought you should know before stating again that nobody except germans speaks the language.
The chopsticks are Japanese, as is the rice they're holding. The rice in the image below that, however (kind of salad-looking rice) is not Japanese rice.
Yes, one can tell just by looking -- when it's this obvious.

So, er, printshop disaster, rather than photoshop?

haha that's a good one!
The guy who had to sign this off was probably Polish and fucked up on purpose by way of revenge.
Seems more like a InDesign Disaster/
I think Darwin's got it--too many different languages involved. The folks who did the final set up had no idea what it meant.
OMG !

Jasmine rice is a variety of rice. In the US, it often comes from Thailand. It's a very nice variety, with a pleasant, slightly nutty flavor. Riz de Siam parfumé, Riz de Thailande, Riz jasmin, Riz parfumé, Riz thai are all ways to say it in French.
Yeah, yeah but why no cuckoo clock?
I don't know why I feel the need to comment on this one. But it's amazing.
Home schooling, I tell ya, home schooling.
i'm guessing it's a swiss package, hence the german and french label

OMG...
This is what happens when you send the printing file without explanation...
This is no PSD but a PSD: Printer Stupid and Dumb !

oh yeah
I'm sure it was printed in Poland by home schooled people.
That's more a regular fail than a photoshop disaster...
What the fuck is with these insanely stupid Polish comments? Cut the crap, it's boring!
One of the best !!
Yeah, Nerte. or by some uneducated niggers

I don't see anything wrong with this photo.

@Burlesk Grotesk: you're thinking of the Swiss version.
Da lache ich mich schon den ganzen Tag drĂĽber kaputt, das ist echt hart!
John M-
no, I'm thinking of the Taiwanese version.
The person who was supposed to make a transparent window obviously did not know German. Or they just left the text in there for a laugh!
Oh my, here we go with the language crap again...
