Hehe, they just rotated the bottom part of their little iPhone vector piccie, making the reflection physically impossible and hideously ugly... if they just flipped the rotated part vertically, putting the foremost reflection part under the foremost iPhone blob, it would make the reflection... physically impossible and hideously ugly...
No, Mr. Jobs, please don't hurt him... it was a dumb mistake, but just a mistake... Wh- wh- what you doing with that iPhone? Why are there prongs sticking out the top? Please, Mr. Jobs, leave him alone! Oh god, no! *zap*
I just can't believe that. Is it that hard to look at how reflection is actually happening? Oh, I know, all Apple designers have matte screens so they never see the reflection.
Careful man, do not laugh at Steve Jobs, or you will provoke His wrath. Well, even worse will be the fate of the poor man that let this one out. It will be no surprise if he jumps out from the top of a skyscraper tomorrow because of the humiliation.
I saw this one immediately, perhaps I've become attuned to reflection disasters?
I agree with Ellen too, two iPhone cutouts should not share the same plane. Because I have had it with these mfing fakes on this mfing plane! Or something.
WV: oppsym - abbreviation for "opposite symmetry"?
I can't believe nobody's complaining about the incorrect shadowing.
The screen of the iPhone is self-illuminating. The screen of the back iPhone would not be shaded from ambient light by the foreground iPhone. Instead, there would be narrowed reflections of the back screen imagery along the chromed edge of the front iPhone.
I wasn't seeing the issue at first (was looking for it inside the phone not underneath) and then when I did felt silly.
For those of you who don't see it, the reflection is wrong. The reflection would be correct if the right phone were the one in the front, but it's not.
The other problem is of course, that they are not taking the phones own depth into consideration when overlapping the 2 phones. They could only be that close if they were paper.
FWIW, the reflection in the original is now corrected. The whole same-plane thing once again raises the question of design choice vs PSD -- but surely if Ralph Lauren's design choice is a PSD this at most rates only a "Photoshop Minor Property Damage".
I read this blog daily and love it, but you just almost made me spit my tea out because I developed the app Guitarist in that picture and am solely responsible for the graphics. So imagine my shock at one of _my_ images turning up here! Luckily I didn't spit my tea out, and it turned out that the 'Photoshop Disaster' wasn't related to my graphics at all. But thanks for making my day! --- Mark MooCowMusic
It's amazing that a person will judge the worth of an entire company because of a three centimeter reflection that a person will barely notice to begin with. XD; Oh, humanity..
im just amazed on the amount of people who overlooked and missed this before it was actually published to the site. seems to be a growing problem with apple rushing to get things out for example snow leopard

I had to search a little for this one, but the label gave it away easily: take a look at the reflection :)
Everyone click the link. See how long it takes for them to change it. Imagine the mauling the responsible drone will get for letting this through.
They already fixed the shadowing.
Not everywhere. Just scroll down a bit, and you'll find it in another picture.
No they did nto fix the issue yet, look the image under "Download apps"
Reflection is already fixed. Anyone maybe they saw that here?
I see that the reflection is still there.
Okay I'm lookin, and I'm lookin, and I'm not... Oh. That's not right.
Steve Job's 'reality distortion field' visible right here folks.
Amazing. Wonderful, Really great.
One word: DERP!
Apparently the iPhone is also paper thin, which is why they're on the same plane.
come on! they practically invented this!
Still not fixed. Just for reference, it's not the top picture, it's under the "Download Apps" heading, the picture that matches the one on this blog.
I thought there was a moratorium on reflection PSDs.
Ok, wait, how do you even manage to screw up a reflection this way?
Oops. Now I see it. My screen brightness is set high so I couldn't see the reflection at all.
Hehe, they just rotated the bottom part of their little iPhone vector piccie, making the reflection physically impossible and hideously ugly... if they just flipped the rotated part vertically, putting the foremost reflection part under the foremost iPhone blob, it would make the reflection... physically impossible and hideously ugly...
oops!
Ouch, i had to move my head quite a lot to see the reflection on my screen ^^
Thought i'd become mad not finding the disaster ^^
Magic, wonderful, great. And no flash.
Apple the best!!! ^^
My iPhone can do this!
How soon before MS figures out how to do this in a Zune ad?
looks like apple is either letting this one slide or they never expected to be featured in this blog so they never saw this
Bad reflections make the baby Jesus cry.
I love that as of late Weds night, they have panicked and fixed it in 50% of the places the space/time error occurs on their site.
the pic isn't even 'correct' to begin with, the button on top is located on the left side, not the right..

"Employee re-education: there's an app for that!"
My Adobe can fix that... not theirs... yet.
I must not mistake axial symmetry with central symmetry.
I must not mistake axial symmetry with central symmetry.
I must not...
Apple must still be contracting out work to VMC/Volt.
I just can't believe that. Is it that hard to look at how reflection is actually happening?

DMCA takedown notice to your hosts in 3...2...
It looks like, between downloading the app and returning to the menu, the iphone ran out of batteries. At least that part is realistic.
Hahahahahaha!!!
apple is stoopid

This one took me awhile to see, even after I looked at the reflections.
OOhhhh! I finally saw it!
WTF Am I looking for?
Yeah, I don't get it either.
I saw this one immediately, perhaps I've become attuned to reflection disasters?

apple should be ontop of this.
Wrong z-ordering on your reflections? There's an app for that!
Reflections are hard.
@pygmylush22,
The power button is on the left side of the iPod touch, but it is located on the right side of the iPhone. I don't know why.
But the reflections are on the opposite side.
I can't believe nobody's complaining about the incorrect shadowing.

Por favor, podrías explicar cuáles son los errores??
A veces no los veo y como no hablo inglés no entiendo los ciomentarios.
Gracias
I don't get it. Whatever it is that you guys are seeing my brain is filtering out. I don't see any reflection/shadowing at all.
I wasn't seeing the issue at first (was looking for it inside the phone not underneath) and then when I did felt silly.

Surely if you can't see it, you probably belong somewhere else. Lolcats?

The fact that it was fixed shows the power of this itty bitty blog over the world of big business...a major win. Well done!
Finally! It took me so long to see this.
I am idiot.
Maybe there's an iPhone app for distorting physics, or else this is a new secret iEscher phone?
Say you want to make impossible reflections. Theres an App for that!
It's amazing that a person will judge the worth of an entire company because of a three centimeter reflection that a person will barely notice to begin with. XD; Oh, humanity..
@pygmylush22 ... you're thinking of the iPod Touch.
im just amazed on the amount of people who overlooked and missed this before it was actually published to the site. seems to be a growing problem with apple rushing to get things out for example snow leopard
WTF is wrong?
They fixed that. The "Original" does not have that mistake
