Dr Who is a classic
British sci-fi show about a
robot spaceman called The Doctor. He's a
hologram Time Lord (ie: from the future.) Even more strangely, his pants stay up through some sort of transdimensional vortex of multispatial implausibility.
Thanks to everyone who sent this in! Original is
here!

The Doctor is not a hologram or a robot, he's a Time Lord! ;)
I'd like to second Sara's statement! He's an alien, not a robot!
Thank you Sara!!
Am I the only one who can see the strap running through the end of the braces, which would then button to the insides of his pants? Of is everyone here only family with the kind of suspenders that clip onto your waistband? These are merely much more classic braces that attach in a different way.
It's not really a disaster, I'm pretty sure that there is a strap on it/
There's another PSD on here, look at her skirt and how the background creeps over it. Not that I was looking around there *ahem*.
Beautiful, the Brits paid a pimply 15 year old Chav to do some Photoshop Job for the new Doctor Who... :/
You can say whatever you like about models, minorities being superimposed with caucasians, and morphed body parts but NEVER EVER diss the good doctor!!
I'm gonna go with JosephFinn on this one, I see the strap.
Either that, or he's being sarcastic and those kind of suspenders don't exist and I'm an idiot. Oh well.
In regards to the ones saying "it's not a mistake, they're a different kind of suspenders":
Did you happen to look at the other suspender, to see how it was attached? :P (Hint: it's attached via a big silvery thing clipped onto his waistband.)
"Either that, or he's being sarcastic and those kind of suspenders don't exist"
Hee! No, they do. See here: http://stephentrendy.files.wordpress.com/2008/02/lithgow_suspenders_72dpi.jpg
um... the doctor is NOT a robot.
fix, STAT. plzthx. <3
The clip is actually right there next to his belt loop! It's just that the strap isn't connected to it.
Brace yourself!
I also see a strap. Really not a disaster.
Oh noes, there's no strap to the clasp... Damn, that made the pic lose ALL realism for me...
wv: outsim... or is it outnerd? As in "The guy who spots the suspender error in the Dr Who pic". Nice pic anyway, go Daleks!
When looking at the original, you can get a good view of it. The suspender on his right is properly clasped via a metal clip to his pants. The suspender's clasp on his left side is on his pants, with the suspender itself nearly two inches away. Hmmm....
Guys... they're clip suspenders. The clip is even on his pants, but it's to the left-- for some reason whoever edited it detached the right (our left) strap from the clip. Why? No clue.
The density is amazing.
@actonthat:
Well, since the good Doctor's lower body is at a different angle AND direction than his upper body, something has got to give... but again, if it weren't for the detached suspender the whole thing would look so natural...
Somebody forgot to reverse the polarity of the clone stamp. Rookie error.
And the girls calves are twice as long as a normal persons...
That thing in the bottom right made them snap with his eyez...
It's not so much how his trousers stay up but how her skirt stays down...
Sheesh. You people sometimes...
The photo as seen here. You can clearly see in the inset that the clip and the suspender are not in line with one another. Notice how the suspender on the right side of his body touches the metal clasp? Now notice how the PSD clip is far to the right of the clip and not touching anything?!
Go to the original's link. click on the picture and it's very, very obvious on how the suspender should attach to the pants (from the non tampered one) and how the PSD one is attached to his pants.
Oh, and even if the suspenders weren't messed up the girl's a PSD all by herself unless she's Elastigirl and is enlogating her legs. SHHHHHEEEEESHHHHHH.
Damn now I am going to have to go see the 3d Alice in wonderland, so I can see the 3D trailer for Dr Who which this poster is supposed to show off.
This is probably a homage to the notoriously campy and truly terrible special effects that have been the hallmarks of the Doctor Who series, particularly in the 70's and 80's.
Exactly. In PinkPanthress's comment, hiring a "pimply 15 year old Chav to do some Photoshop Job for the new Doctor Who" would be a huge ding on their budget.
No contest on the suspenders, but while it does look distorted a little, Karen Gillian does have long, thin legs - http://www.seanpaune.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/dw11amypond.jpg
I can't stop staring at his forehead. So what is the back story of this Dr. Who? Is he the grown-up illegitimate love-child of Herman Munster?
No Daleks?
Why is the companion wearing cowboy boots?
Cosmo, for the sake of this blog continuing to provide daily laughs I will try to keep my wife from seeing it. She is a Dr. Who maniac (although a lovely woman in every other possible way) who might do something horrible to you for being so dismissive of The Doctor.
Ok. I see that the suspenders where mucked up someone twisted the Doctors torso and forgot to adjust everything... or something... and I'll also admit that the actress has got really long and thin legs. But unless the dear Doctor found her on Planet of the Paper Dolls there's no way those legs are wearing those boots...
And there is a Dalek! The bubble right there, in between them with the explody thing. Duh. :D
wv: inging as in what's with shows flinging their cast members around for promo shots?
Time Lord or not...it looks like someone is flushing a toilet with that nice blue water that keeps you from having to scrub it as often. Not sure what one would have to eat to get the rest of the image, however...
I'm impressed anyone noticed the suspenders in all that mess.
Why are her legs gray?
Implausible suspenders! And I'm about to be sucked into a giant loo! Geronimo!
The image as a whole reminds me of that stop-motion picture "Flushed Away": http://img4.ifilmpro.com/resize/image/stills/films/resize/istd/2780920.jpg But I think what bothered me the most is the girl's left leg. I'm trying to picture what it looks like under that boot...
WV: chipin
We should all chipin a penny or two to help the poor marketers hire a better creative team.
"Even more strangely, his pants stay up through some sort of transdimensional vortex of multispatial implausibility."
Either that, or they fit.
My trousers can do that.
Joseph, don't be a penis. If these are button braces why is the clip attached to his waistband?
I'm more concerned that someone would team clip-on braces with jeans and a bowtie.
Indeed the actress does seem to have long, thin, legs in other photos. But, I dunno, this PSD seems to take that concept to a whole new level.
Perhaps the buckle broke while falling through the vortex. They probably aren't built to withstand that kind of abuse.
Thank you for making the comments less cryptic. Makes it more enjoyable to go through the blog than spending ages staring at a photo and not getting it (though, I grant you, that is MY fault!)
i see the metallic clip. that part is not a disaster, sorry.

Exactly how is that NOT a PSD, when the suspender and the clip don't line up with each other?
That's not a metal clip, that's a sonic screwdriver, and a sonic screwdriver is perfectly capable of holding up trousers, as any fule kno.
She has a fat leg and a skinny leg. Hmm
Yeah right, it's a disaster for the suspenders...
If not for this little mistake it would be the greatest masterpiece of Photoshop art in history...

Yeah, that and there is the five fingers on his hand! What's up with that? ROFL Five fingers! ROFL
The BBC has released a video explaining how they get to be sucked into the giant loo.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpbmMhNe6aA
The companion's legs do appear to be the same dimensions as in this photo.
Oh wait. Disregard my above comment, I just counted the digits on my hand and there are five. Now I feel like a fool.
What a disaster, that looks nothing like a rift in time and space.
Although the suspender clip is the obvious "d'oh!" moment here, I think the girl's image is really the disaster. Her differently-sized legs could be attributed to perspective, but the heel-knee length is absolutely disproportionate to the knee-hip length. It looks like they shopped on those boots, and made her lower legs a lot longer than they were originally. Plus, is it just me, or is there a strange blue glow coming from her underpants area? She should really get that checked out.
There's also the issue of his left foot being a peculiar elongated/oversized shape.
His suspenders are the only thing wrong with this picture? Ha, ha!
I can't tell - is that her right leg in front of her or is it her left leg? Is she wearing shorts or a skirt?
Are the people falling or floating? Or flushing?
GAAAHHHH! Now I have a headache.
@Isha--
How did I miss that Dalek? It is as clear as the clip on the Doctor's braces.
I will be exterminated if I make any more mistakes like that.
He's The Doctor, he can do whatever the hell he likes, and if he likes magic suspenders SO BE IT.
That's a disaster?
The braces/suspenders is a goof for sure, (And his shirt to the right of the braces)... but there is also something strange about his right hand - like he's leaning on something (maybe her hand originally and that was deemed too er.. provocative??!!) Also the girl seems to have M.C.Escher legs. But the biggest PSD here is surely his hair - someone MUST have used the clone stamp a bit too enthusiastically, he looks more like DR Eraserhead (I think the guy on the RHS was the art director after seeing it published.)
The whole thing is a horrible mess. Whoever did it should be fired, rehired, and fired again.
I always found Dr Who to be pretty low quality entertainment. I think the ad suggests it is actually very poor entertainment.
In all those cases of massive PsD I wonder why people did not simply take a good picture for those ads/posters etc., instead of comping everything?
http://davidikus.blogspot.com/
Wellll.....I'm sure I could defeat the transdimensional blablabla and get those pants OFF.
lol, screw the PSD, does the Doctor make house calls? *fluffs hair*

Too much trouble fishing them out of the gigantic toilet bowl and drying them off after each pic.
Very cute, miranda! Didn't want your funny quips to go unacknowledged.
:-D
The girl's right leg is a little weird....of course that a space time vortex is happening there too!
Your blog is really excellent. It inspires the readers who has that great desire to lead a better and happier life. Thanks for sharing this information and hope to read more from you.

i can see the loop that the suspenders are attatched to. boy some of you ppl really need your eyes checked hahah
Ashley, you're joking, right?
Actually, the clip is where the pants are being pulled up despite the potential of the button attachment.
Your article is very good.I like it very much.

see, what happened was, the memo to fix the picture got intercepted by the dalek and so the only thing the guy in charge of 'shopping received was a copy of the original images with a note that said "exterminate-exterminate-destroy!!"
This is a FAIL FAIL. Strap is clearly visible on close up. No timey-wimey stuff going on here to hold them up.
What strap? Have you even looked at this picture in close up? These are clip-on braces. See the clips? Them's the clues.
The clips should be attached to the braces by mechanical means (as one of them is), not by the will-power of the less intelligent members of the commentariat.
The owner of this site is obviously finding it difficult finding decent photoshop disasters.
They've changed it! lol

I love the Doctor, so I am thrilled to see this here even if it is a bit negative. lol Long live our favorite time lord!!! :D
