It took my awhile to figure out just where these are on her body, almost looks as though they wrap around her knees.
It's not PsD, it's clearly a tumor. Benign, I hope!

Looks like the pic was originally cropped or ended just to the left of where the underwear material stops between the legs.
Then someone felt the urge to make the pic 20% bigger and sort of stretched whatever minimal information was there at the edge before doing a cleanup. You can see the leftmost 15% or so is very slightly darker; also there are repetition artefacts along the lines between the model's bottom leg and the bed linen, and also between her legs.
I imagine whoever did it was concentrating so hard on closeup work - the skin itself doesn't look too bad - and neglected to step back and observe the wider snake-swallowing-a-bear effect.

I believe it was an abnormal refraction from the position of the wide angle lens based on the position of the model and the position of her wide angled bottom and wide angled thighs. I think the wide-ness is cause because she is hiding a wing that we cannot see because of a camping accident she had.
Or something like that.

VERY good post.
Now that the original is on the site, you can see how it happened.
The 'boy shorts' sit much higher on the waist, up on the lower back, than the PSper imagined such that there was still a fair bit of curvy bottom coming to a thinner (presumably) thigh below...which was not accounted for...
