In Sucker Punch, the exciting new movie from Zack Snyder, a young girl has her head swell up so she looks like Mr Mackey from South Park. Retreating to an alternative reality as a coping strategy she imagines herself with a normal size head and a tiny body. It all ends in a madcap chase with bongo music and a surprise guest appearance by the Elephant Man. Three thumbs up!
Thanks to Stefanie! Imdb page in case you are unable to believe this is real.

my girlfriend can do that!
Yes, yes she can.
Actually, her original head, the one she got with her original body, is very much the opposite fit: hwww.imdb.com/media/rm3052637952/nm0540441
I don't see it. Her head looks entirely proportional with her body. I see what looks like a bad masking job around the helicopter, but not with the rest of the picture.
I even measured it. On my monitor, her body is 8" and her head is 1", or 1/8. I'm 72" tall with 10 of those being my head, which is very close to her proportions.
I think you're just trying to promote the movie.
It might be just me, but I'd say that when looking at this picture the rather... unlikely aspects of it are the least of my concerns.
Just imagine wearing fishnet stockings held together with leather straps over your butt, and you'll get what I mean.
lol, did you see Sweet Pea on the IMDB page? Her head looks even more inflated.
I know eh? Seriously, these zombie fighting cyberpunkopalipse gals wear the most impractical outfits.
And how the hell do you prevent the fish net from getting caught on atmospherically jutting rebar, rusty nails, or the teeth of the undead minions out to get you? I can hardly walk out of my house with out the damned stuff ripping.
Considering I took these against a gray or white background, I'd say they're pretty well done, evocative efforts. They're movie posters after all. Is the studio not allowed to have some fun or claim some artistic license?
Look how tiny they made C-3PO and R2. Scandalous! ;-) http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Star-Wars-Posters_i311800_.htm
Fun stuff all 'round and I look forward to the next round of images that get made.
Cheers!
she got nice ass, i dont care!
Comparing it to stills of her in Donnie Darko, nope, nothing disproportionate about her figure or head size.
What about that light brown Hitler moustache?
The poster pic is well done. Waldobaby, that IMDB pic was shot from a higher, less natural perspective, and it distorts Malone's proportions. But surely you know that because you're a whiz at these things.
omg she does have a mo!
This looks like those photo walls you'd find on a tivoli, with a hole you can put a head through. The only element with any apparent depth here is the talent's head. Everything else on the picture is so flat, so flat. Like a cardboard. And yes: her head is too big. As for the fishnet stocking, I believe it's either painted on (her skin) or it's steel grille of some kind; actually pretty solid armour!
Whether this qualifies as a concept disaster or a Photoshop disaster or both I don't know; I'll leave that up to the jury.
For a non english speaker, the movie title seems insanely stupid. Is it a title disaster as well, or is "sucker punch" actually a pretty cool thing to say?
The photo may have been taken from above, but it's been comped into the background as if seen from below. Result: yeesh.
Myxstew: A "sucker" is a fool, someone you play a trick on or take advantage of. A "sucker punch" is hitting someone when they don't expect it, or hitting them from behind. It's not a very good title, but it's typical for a second-rate action movie.
WV: scrock. The sound of a head being over-inflated.
I have looked at some full body shots of Jena Malone for a few minutes now and none of them looks like the body in this poster. All that is left is her head. She has a rather athletic body, almost muscular, but this body is slimmed down too much.
Looks like a bad photo angle, combined with an outfit that is cut to make her legs look long and her body small.
Photo disaster, maybe. Not so much on the shopping though.
Average human proportions: a body that is seven heads (including the head) tall. If in one photo she is eight heads tall and in this one she seems to be five or six heads tall, maybe she is Elastagirl.
I think I might buy a laptop battery
Ishi: A lot of the film, including the setting above, takes place in someone's imagination or storytelling or such. Bottom line; it's not real, so they don't have to worry about clothing practicality.
My goodness!
Will you look at those mountains. They are so out of proportion. AND LOOK AT THE ANGLE of them. How can they do that when you could get perfectly good photos of mountains (without even bringing them into the studio)? Also, the peaks look too large.
What is this world coming to???
I think someone already said it: the girl's picture is shot from below, and then comped in to a background shot from above. Horrible combination. And to Alex: I saw in IMDB she's only 17, so technically she still doesn't have a butt. :p
John Wood
Hehe. I had no idea what this was about till I googled it, I based my comment on the styling of the one image. Screams me some post-apocalyptic zombie fun times.
It actually looks like a fun little romp of a fantasy film.
That a very good article

That actress has a slightly larger head anyway. And I think the poster is supposed to be cartoonish, based on the trailer anyway.
