Dolce & Gabbana: Zero leg room

Just as I suspected. Behind every closed womens’ locker room door is a bevy of skimpily-clad models washing themselves with buckets.

Thanks Monzerrat. You can see the original here.

    Need. Red. Circle.

    Where’s the PSD?

    • Whiny_Little_Snot

I gotcha red circle right here, buddy. Where you want it? If there’s a disaster here I’ll eat it.

      • armadillo_in_furs

Can you circle the whole post?

  • Anyonesomewhere

that the second girl from the left only has one leg maybe?

  • http://twitter.com/violetfrosting Kate Fowler

Looks like the girl in the middle is missing a leg

  • jem

The typo in the caption is more obvious than the missing leg.

    • JJ

And the word choice weirdness! I think the phrase is usually “scantily-clad.”

  • yo momma

    Stumped me.

  • John

They didn’t remove the leg. Part of the photo was cut off in the fold line.

  • Bob

I think the leg is there, almost perfectly lined up. You can see an extra bump below the knee in the middle, that can’t be from the same leg.
I’m more worried about the left girl’s right leg, I wish my girlfriend could get it out of the way like that (doable if very flexible, but without pain?).

  • Alberto

    OM words !
Seriously, did some one get paid for that ?xx!?
    Incredible ! and it’s D&G..
No doubt the AD is … on strike ?

    Closed womens?
    Hmm… mmm….
    Riiiiiight…

Is there an editors’ disaster blog where this could end up?

For the rest I’m with Bob. The position is still doable, I think, even without excruciating pain, but it seems awefully long, especially the thigh… But then again… That also might just have been the (wide) angle…

    • Waldobaby

Theese Englishers speek funnie. It’s a locker room. It’s a woman’s locker room. There are four, so it’s a locker room for women. It’s closed. It’s a closed women’s locker room. I am on a horse. A single mark off one letter, I think, ain’t too bad. Closed women are a whole ‘nuther thing entirely.

EDIT: This has been a deliberately doctored picture. Here is the original: http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/505/dolcegabbanaspring1.jpg

  • Swell

I don’t think a leg is missing. Something is quite off in the posture of the woman sitting on the right. We can see both of her arms and it looks like her torso is turned toward us (the fold makes things hard to discern), we see the left arm pit, AND we see the back side of her right leg and right foot! That’s one hell of a twist!

    • internette

Swell, you’re looking at her left leg & foot; her right leg is hidden behind the left leg of the woman in front.

      • https://me.yahoo.com/diopsideanddiamonds#4734d Beth B.

No, it’s her right leg and foot, or else you’d see the inner arch of the foot instead of the outer edge.

D&G always has the worst ads, PSDs or no.

  • Jules50

The left leg of the model at the front is huge. Her thigh is almost twice the length of the one on her right leg. I noticed that immediately.

    • Roo0

Looks like she’s got a big beaver too.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_L5DQFVHHBFI4PF2NWAP3RBJAHA kleenex

I am a supermodel who was born with one leg, I’m special.

  • Rumpus

OK, so the model in the center has got only one leg, and it’s a right leg. So?

And so, she’s got her right leg emerging from her left hip. So what?

“Where’s the disaster?” rises the chorus…

  • Thatguy

    “closed womens’ locker room door”

    Really?

  • Look in the Details

Boo. Come on, not a PsD. Those who commented about the fold line were getting close on the answer.

It is a scanned photo from a print magazine, which corrupted the fold-line region. (you can see the tear line at the bottom of the left hand page, it is more visible on the bigger version available at the original source).

    1) The pages are misaligned vertically, the whole right page needs to be shifted upwards.
    2) The left margin of the right page has also been folded over to create the clean edge (again visible in the bigger version) which is the women in the middle appears compressed, with some of her chest missing.

The legs overlap, but both are obviously visible in the larger version.

    • swell_swell

I’ll give you the loss of some of the picture into the fold, but I don’t buy the rest of it. If you move the right page up, you create a mismatched arm and boob.

Either way, it doesn’t explain why her torso is facing toward the audience (and not twisted), yet we can see the outside and back of the right leg and foot. Unless you’re a contortionist, good luck getting into that posture.

      • Look in the Details

Point taken, the left leg looks funny.

The torso positioning is fine, her right leg is visible under the leftmost model’s knee. So she is sitting with torso and hips both facing basically the same direction.

Her left leg position is plausible, but I do agree with you, it looks like a right leg (or at least lower leg) image was substituted for her left leg. The knee is potentially okay, but ankle appears reversed. If we could see her toes it would be obvious, which is probably why we don’t see her toes.

On very close inspection, the third model’s right foot has grown into a club as well.

  • Look in the Details

You might try to argue the RIGHT leg (left as facing us) of the leftmost model is distorted.

“The left leg of the model at the front is huge. Her thigh is almost twice the length of the one on her right leg. I noticed that immediately. ”

More likely it is just good old-fashioned camera lens and perspective distortion. You need a relatively wide-angle lens positioned in close to the leftmost model to get the perspective they show.
The right leg is closer, so it looks bigger/stretched.

  • Gaussian Blerr

Failure to understand depth has made the girl standing at the back into a giant. And her legs! Are they broken in two places? Also, she’s kicking something that magically vanishes behind the mystery right leg.

    • Look in the Details

That’s just a perspective effect from the wide angle lens and low camera position used, not a photoshop error. I agree it is not a good choice by the photographer.

(BTW – Love the Gaussian Blerr handle)

  • Waldobaby

FRAUD! This has been a deliberately doctored picture. Here is the original: http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/505/dolcegabbanaspring1.jpg

    • armadillo_in_furs

      Nice.

    • Largirl

What am I missing that I don’t see the difference between the two?

      • http://www.facebook.com/foxberry.studios Koke Momo

Oh I see it, the middle model’s leg is in the attached file “original”, and the one image above has only one leg.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000212875160 Kika Noronha

Despite the missing leg, WHY DO THEY HAVE TO LOOK LIKE ANORECTIC, NEARLY DEAD FROM STARVATION, SLAVES in a concentration camp!
