Elle: Olivia Palermo: Bulimic Alien

Oh it makes me so happy that bulimic-aliens on the verge of death still get jobs… uh yeah I’m going on a diet.

Thanks Marcus for the fantastic find! The caption was submitted to our Facebook page by Sunjo. You can see the original here. If you can’t see the PSD, please check out our red image gallery to see the marked up version.

I’m confused what bulimia specifically, or her her weight in general, have to do with her hip being terribly offset. Caption fail.

    • Driver-by

I think (I hate playing mindreader!) that the “bulimic” reference was meant as an allusion to the model’s apparent miniscule lower torso and waist. What it has to to with her hip AFAICT is nothing, and why should it?

A really disastrous disaster today, thanks!

When your body no longer has fat to burn, it will start burning muscle. She is so underfed that her body has burned up all the muscle, too, and now she is burning up her ligament and tendons.

      • http://idiosyncratic-routine.com amberella

The “look” to which you’re referring is anorexia, not bulimia. Regardless, the fact that the model is [very] thin has nothing to do with the cause of the PsD, and a [funnier] joke could have been made, IMO.

        • http://www.www.psdisasters.com Vernon

We never deleted any comments and the only way it got deleted is if you use very bad language.

no worries. still, this is much better way of commenting than it used to be when psd was on blogger

Nice work on the drawing, She still has super long legs.

          • http://profiles.google.com/joebarasa Joe Barasa

i doubt if they were shopped at all. from my observations most tall people are tall in the legs. am 5,9 myself, but when seated around people my shoulders get lower than most. also consider the eye level of the camera, it was low, nearer the legs

          • Queenmab1230

Only, A) she isn’t tall, and B) look at her left arm as well– it comes out way farther than it should. I’m about her height, and I tried getting into the position you drew so my feet and everything were at the angles seen in the camera, and I couldn’t.

Nice drawing, but it doesn’t look human :)

The girl on the photo is Olivia Palermo. A quick search with google gives us this:
            She’s 5’4″ and 95 lbs (163 cm and 43 kg).

Firstly, she’s not tall at all.
Secondly, she is very skinny – yes. But her waist and limbs are human-looking.

Here’s a real life photo of her:

            Compare it to ELLE cover.
            Notice the differences?

          • Horny Toad

Your drawing sort of turned me on…. Should I see someone about this? Psychiatrist or hooker?

  • Maxaxle

    This is obviously a PSD.

OMG! What if people really looked like that!!!

“Anorexic alien” would be more appropriate, and Joe likes loooooooooooooooong legged ladies…and who doesn’t?

    • http://profiles.google.com/joebarasa Joe Barasa

dear God, u made them, dint you 😀

      • http://twitter.com/farlakes God

yup Joe. I tried very hard to make em all look like Lilith…;-)

    • http://twitter.com/linguoisdead Meryl T

Yeah, you can be bulimic almost anywhere on the weight spectrum, from itty-bitty to roly-poly. So without actual ‘shopped puke somewhere in the photo, this caption doesn’t work.

  • Marcy

You know why she is standing in front of the “L”? – If she stood behind it, you couldn’t see her!

  • http://twitter.com/gruenima martin gruening

    eeeeeeek…. disgusting!

  • No

You know what’s funnier than the caption? The fact that it was apparently the best one out of a collective effort on Facebook.

  • kirviinci

Um, no. I have to go with Joe Barasa on this one.

    • Jim

I’m with JB as well – Nice drawing! Actually a PSD would imply that the Photoshop artist was reasonably incompetent – but technically, this is a brilliant photoshop job – I’d be hiring them

  • Mishap

The Vs are actually amongst us!!!!!!!!!!!

Alot of the disasters i see on here, i can sometimes, SORT OF see where they (the creator of certain disaster) wouldn’t notice right away that there was a problem, but this one– Not so much. How does someone look at this as a finished product and actually say– ” Oh yes, it looks just fine, go ahead send it to press”. Seriously?? Are they smoking crack, or just flat out not give a sh*$? Just curious….

The dress matters more than the pony wearing it.

What happened to the funny captions?

  • Mack

‘Let it flow’ – How fitting, since she looks like she’s about to squat down for a piss!
