Moebel-kempt: Anti-gravity furniture

floating woman

A little betäubungsmittel and you too can be taking a trip without leaving the couch. As an aside, Moebel-Kempf are currently standing trial for crimes against the internet with possibly the worst website ever.

Thanks Astrid! You can see the original here (PDF) and be sure to check out Moebel-Kempf. If you can’t see the PSD, please check out our red image gallery.

Isn’t she meant to be flopping into the sofa, and this is illustrated with her mid-air? ISn’t this the point? Or am I missing it?

    • Spillage66

Yes she is! On further and closer inspection, she is flopping down into the sifa. Look at her trouser leg. It is flappingas it moves, and her hair is sweeping too, as she’s in mid-drop. She’s thrown herself onto the sofa, and that’s that. It’s intentional. Another PSD FAIL!!

Are you a lawyer or perhaps a modern art curator?

      • Commie

No it’s your opinion flopping onto the floor. That’s what I see.

      • gnfnrf

Do you know of anyone who casually rests their hand on their knee as they flop onto a couch?

      • http://profiles.google.com/alexfkraus Alex Kraus

If she were flopping down from a standing position on top of the ottoman, there’d be some indentation from where she was standing. That, or she pole-vaulted onto the sofa.

      • Misshap

Intentional my arse! And that’s a big muthafuka couch.

      • Waldobaby

@spillage66: Then why have they killed (404) the ad?

Seriously, these guys watched too many mattress commercials where the model floated down (like floating down) to an eternally comfortable night-time’s rest. Lame print concept, but there’s no way this was a slip up in execution.

        EDIT: lame furniture too…

    • Andrew A. Gill

That was quite clearly the intention.

Of course, her hair is down, not flying up, and her trouser legs do not seem to be acting properly, either. Looks like it was comped in, making it an obvious comp.

  • Me-not-you-just-me

visiting the website, have a look at the pdf, there are some other cases of anti-gravity in kitchens…

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Anellia-Stefcheva/1459105162 Anellia Stefcheva

I wish my couch could do that :(

  • Repton

Is it just me, or is the rightmost table leg floating too?

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_L5DQFVHHBFI4PF2NWAP3RBJAHA kleenex

She was dropped in very carefully, NO PSD!!!!

    • Commie

If you look at the rest of the site there’s no consistent attempt to design this floating. If there was it could be a joke, but it looks more like the photo they were given was from the wrong angle. Move the image a down a few cm and they could have got away with it. But no.

  • Samwell

Calling this one stupid and ugly, but intentional.

If it’s intentional, does it really qualify as a PSD?

No really, I’m asking — Isn’t “They meant to do that!” a faIr defense?

    • http://www.www.psdisasters.com Vernon

Stupid and ugly is what we love :)

  • Yo momma

Floats like a butterfly, stings like a PSD.

  • pilgrim

Doubt it was intentional, as previously stated, the rest of the ad doesn’t have a floating theme, and the text above this picture simply states “Entdecken Sie das erste Sofa, das mitdenkt” which roughly translates to “Discover the first sofa, shown below”

    • http://www.facebook.com/jan.kupers Jan Kupers

It actually says “Discover the first sofa, that thinks along with you”

  • http://profiles.google.com/joebarasa Joe Barasa

forget the sofa and floating things… i want that thing with wheels! *looking for my helmet and leather jacket, and scouting the neighborhood for a long, steep, downhill slope*

  • http://www.facebook.com/DjsBoo KJ Abbott

The table seems to be a lil’ odd as well…….

  • Efwe

There IS a tv commercial that looks just like this. Where a woman falls slowly and furniture appears to catch her.. If it’s the same brand of furniture then it is intentional, still bad though.

  • Mordecai

If only the 9Mb pdf file was floaty and light…Seriously idiotic use of the internet.

I would prefer Drogen insteat of betäubungsmittel.

    Sim-Sim Salabim!

That was INTENTIONALLY … but on the other hand, no one expected that European ads will work in the U.S.
