Pepsi Throwback: In 2D

pepsi can

A flashback to bygone days when the two dimensional zeitgeist was ‘It”.

Thanks Allen. The original was found on Gawker but you can see it here also. If you can’t see the PSD, please check out our marked up image within our gallery.

Looks like the Pepsi has gone flat.
Actually, can you image what an opened can would be like after 40 years? It would be half brown tentacles and half bugs.  By Commie

Waiting for the “This is not a disaster” comments in 5, 4, 3, 2…..

Aside from the paper cut-out can, I’m more concerned that it looks like they pasted a hairless 70s basketball player’s legs onto this woman. Is it me, or are they seriously disproportionate?

Can it be considered a psd when the ad was probably made before ps?

no dummy this is a recent ad the girl looks from the 70′s to reference that they are going back in time with their formula with real sugar

    • Gabi Gmd

Damnnnn i was going to use this joke!

  • Circularfile00

The 70′s were a time filled with fads – pet rocks, lava lamps, and jogging while holding a cardboard cut-out of your favorite beverage. Personally, I ran with a rut-out of Tab, but, if I recall correctly, the Budweiser cut-out was the most popular. Oh, those crazy joggers with their way-too-short shorts and polo shorts!

It makes you so strong you can crush soda cans with one hand and not even break your stride!

ah…the feel of the early internet-years. where full-color was Green and Black, kiloliners and Pascal where yet very hard to understand and porn was already on the BBS….

Hooray, my submission got posted. :D This ad makes me think the original photo was a “get outside and exercise!” photo and Pepsi decided to tack on their fizzy sugar water.

I’m more amused by the “F LIKE US TO CATCH THE PEPSI SPIRIT” tagline. I KNOW that they meant that Pepsi lovers should “like” them on Facebook, but it reads like they’re just bragging about Pepsi’s ability to, well, perform! ;-)
