Vogue: Adam Levine: Ain’t Half Bad

Apparently there was horrific screaming at the photo shoot.
Thankfully the art department came to the rescue and repaired the damage.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in! You can see the original here (NSFW). Be sure to check out our red circled image if you can’t see the PSD.

    “It’s hip to be square..”

Edit: I wonder if the article in Vogue is about the guy being a shark attack surviver?

  • http://twitter.com/der_bahnchef Michael Grube

Apart from that very poorly comped undie (looks too square to me), the dude’s body and position provides me with a very uneasy feeling in my stomach. Well, maybe I just need to eat…

  • Spillage66

Why do you constantly censor people’s bottoms? What is so bad about someone’s arse that it has to be covered? What country is this? Communist China? Soudi Arabia? It’s buttocks, not anything sexually explicit! Do your sponsors hold very high religious principles, and you fear to “offend”? Yes, that bloke’s stomach is far too slim to contain his internal organs, so this is a valid PSD, but, for goodness sake… stop blocking the lady’s arse!

    • Dhawkins1234

Plus, it’s in Vogue, which a child can buy at a supermarket.

      • Chad Schofield

I prefer to get my kids to buy hardcore.

I agree! Don’t add a CSD* to the PSD!

      *CSD= CensorShip Disaster.

    • Waldobaby

But it’s a much nicer rectangle than last time. Things are improving.

  • Dr. Decent

What’s with the censorship lately? I come here to see disasters in their full glory. It’s not like the guy is feeling her up, so cut the crap.

    • http://www.www.psdisasters.com Vernon

Any nudity (butts, breasts) will be censored. I did a lot of thinking on the subject over the last few weeks and it ultimately came down to the following scenario. If I was at work/home and opened up Photoshop Disasters and my boss or child seen what I was loking at, would it be okay? To me the answer is no.

      • http://twitter.com/farlakes God

boohoo, but i do understand the american way. To me it is an advertorial, and my kids, my wife and me do have butts ,legs..Just my wife and my daughter have breasts and nudity is completely normal here…Thank Myself for that.

        Butt I do understand Vernon
        – Image ;-)

      • Dr. Decent

You here collect mostly advertorials that were already deemed fit for publication. Therefore, while maybe risque or tasteless, they will mostly likely not violate any laws. You do not have to make it your business to protect people from themselves. And if you do, this is not a very elegant solution. You could simply mark the post “NSFW” and make people need another click to see it on YOUR site.
Precautionary self-censorship is about the worst thing you as a blog can do to yourself. You impair your right to free speech. And you will lose clicks.

OK, but then: why aren’t the guy’s nipples censored too?

  • JohanStr

He’s obviously had a gastric bypass removing approx. 50% of his stomach. I see absolutely nothing wrong here. :)

    • Le_Bob

Hate to do this, but I have to point out that the stomach tends to be on the left side, the one not chopped off.

It’s ok, you were just distracted by her giant rectangular butt plug.

  • Sacke

The worst dissster is the censored part of the picture.

  • Guest

If I may offer a little helpful, friendly advice- If you think that a PSD needs to be censored, don’t use it.

  • jdm8

The censorship does seem silly, it’s just buttocks.  However, the post does link to see the uncensored original.

  • Clover

    Ridiculously censored… why?

Sorry, but I don’t agree with you.

You, like most of the american sites, tend to reduce the audience to stupid immature bastards who cannot make their own decisions.

But the majority of your audience are independent people who can think and make their own decisions (Is this suitable to view at this moment?).

You are depriving your audience the right of making their own decisions.

        • britter4eva

if you DO NOT like it, feel free to NEVER come back. This is NOT your blog, you shall do whatever you please on your OWN blog. Respect the posters choices, or leave. It’s simple.

          • Tet

maybe he will leave and maybe a lot of other people too or maybe not. but at least it’s fair to Vernon to say if you don’t like something new, so he can think about it.

          • Sacke

I think I will stay to make your life a misery. For You don’t deserve to live in a free country where everybody have their rigt to speak freely.

        • Waldobaby

“You are depriving your audience the right of making their own decisions.”

That is such a load of patronizing bullshit.

          • Sacke

Well said, communist comrade! We cannot have the people say their meaning, less decide for themselves!

  • Bev

Adam’s torso-ectomy is pretty horrible, as is the jagged cut-out between the model’s legs!!  I don’t care much about her censored bottom as long as we can click to see the uncensored shot.  All big sites/blogs do that now so that us prudish Americans don’t get yelled at for looking at bums at work!  :-p

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_L5DQFVHHBFI4PF2NWAP3RBJAHA kleenex

He has the moves like Jagger which allows him to get into those special poses, NO PSD…

  • Byteme

    Stop censoring the Photos!
The only PSD I see here is that the tattoo’s look like they were added to him. He looks like he has plastic skin with flat tattoos.

  • Synthprax

    No ass for you!

  • Synthprax

Seriously, though… he is a skinny mofo, but please.
If you’re gonna stitch together two different photos, don’t be sorta ridiculous. Be completely ridiculous…er.

  • Marcy

Why?  Why is part of him missing?  I would think it would be much easier to have both of them pose for the picture together than to have them pose separately, and try to align everything exactly right  – “Adam, hold your hand right there, no, 1/8 inch tothe left, no your left, now up a bit, ooops too much…” But if they did pose together it makes no sense that part of him was cut out, so it must have been separate and they forgot to paste part of him in, yet the jeans look like someone paid attention to them, trying to make them line up with the fake edge of his stomach.

Argghhh – I am so confused!  Yes, it is a PsD, but I want to understand why or how it happened.

    • Murgatroyd

I suspect that all parts of this image were taken from a single photograph. Some editor told the graphic artist: “This is the photo we want to use, but it’s too wide for the space in the magazine. Make it narrower, but don’t make Levine look any skinnnier than he already is.” So the graphic artist grabbed the right side of the image — Levine’s head and torso — and moved it the equivalent of six inches/15 cm. or so to the left, behind the woman’s leg.

      • Marcy

That could be possible – thanks.

adam levine is sexy hot & beautiful man.

    • Bev

Agreed, Alex.  I didn’t even notice there WAS a model in the photo, much less that she had a block over her butt.  lol

  • http://twitter.com/chairman Chris Pisarra

What’s with the stupid censorship?  If I wanted to be treated like a child I’d go read Fox news.

    • http://www.www.psdisasters.com Vernon

A lot of your viewers seem to disagree, respectfully or not.

I tend to think that too many PSDs involve weird body parts to consider this site safe for work (and many would consider any entertainment NSFW).
As for children, I’m not a big fan of hiding butt cracks to feel like I make them safe, and I don’t check PSD when I should be playing with them.
But I respectfully agree with your right to do whatever you please on your blog.

      • Ray

Being European, I think censoring nudity is ridiculous. But I can understand the general concept. And as long as you link to the uncensored version I can live with it.

As long as the buttocks are not parted, what is the problem? It’s just rear cleavage – you don’t censor frontal cleavage… do you? :|

        This seems lame and prudish.

    • http://twitter.com/victorstuber Victor Stuber

It makes it easier to view at work.

    • Waldobaby

So, you’re just here for the butts? This one made Jezebel, that fairly lame “blog” at http://jezebel.com/5849762/adam-levine-loses-a-chunk-of-torso-in-tragic-photoshop-accident

  • Henry

Not understanding the anti-butt-blurring.  I would think that those who want to view naked butts could easily view them elsewhere online.  I mean, really, do you check out PsD so you can see a naked butt, because if that is the case, it is rather pathetic. This is one blog run by one guy who can freely decided what to show and not show.  He is not being controlled by Big Brother or The Man or the Government or the Religious Right, it is not an example of the fall of mankind, it is not the end of the first amendment, it is jsut a blog about bad photoshopping..

  • Chris

Here’s my response to the censoring thing… on what planet is the censored version just fine to be looking at at work, while the uncensored version isn’t?  I mean, really?  If a workplace is ok with the censored one, wouldn’t it be ok with the uncensored one?  “Oh, this?  I’m just looking at this picture of a nude model during work hours.  No, see, it’s ok, because there’s a small box over her butt crack”

  • http://rodatradar.blogspot.com/ ZealotZebra

People… don’t bother about missing the opportunity to see a butt. The real issue is whether or not they forced this man to wear a corset before shooting or not.

  • ex-visitor

    Bye PSD.
We as an European design company I had read this page daily.
However after the starting of the ridiculous censorship (where is old free America?) we made the decision to delete the link at the browser.

As European absolute ridiculous! You can not protect children from such pictures. You have to teach your children to deal with that. Bans is not a solution, the solution is to make the children competent with media.

Dear Sir, you have lost about 9 daily readers NOW

    Good bye.

  • Fiskpotet

    Hi!
I used to enjoy this website…
It’s not that I need to see that butts on PSD, it’s more thinking about you guys thinking “Ho no! butts ! Disgusting ! Ho, people might get shoked! OMG! Let’s censor it, quick!”. Just thinking about this makes me sad and angry. So I leave.
    Bye

    • Misshap

  • http://dave.faller.myopenid.com/ Skizz

You have a ‘red circled’ version of the PSD, why not an uncensored version as well. In fact, why not have a user option to show censored or uncensored images.
