OE 24: Too Big To Swallow

Dude, when you told me they were ‘huge out there today,’ I thought you meant the waves!

Thanks Oliver. The article writes about a Shark who bit part of surfer’s bottom off. An explanation for the image submitted by Oliver was that it could be a Megalodon coming back from the cenozoic era. You can see the original on the OE24 site.

This is not a PSD, it was purposely done PS job.

Alot of the the time White Pointers are just not understood so instead people fear them… Wetsuits generally are black, flippers are dark blue or black, of course a human is going to look like a large seal to them.

So, this is a PSD of putting forward a typical stereo type.

Maybe they did mean to subtly perpetuate the fear of “giant man-eating sharks” to sensationalize their story, but I still think it’s a PsD.  The scale is so wrong and the story has nothing to do with the shark’s size.

      • Waldobaby

Exactly! They DID mean to be subtle.

Ah. I think the shark was thinking… Om nom nom nom

  • Luckysnags

Personally, I think it’s a PS Triumph ! Awesome pic.

“The article writes about a Shark who bit part of surfer’s bottom off.” Ok, so… it stopped to remind itself of its diet, ceased opening its jaws wide enough to swallow the guy whole, and just took a polite little nibble about the size of its own tooth?

How big is that shark? A mile long?

  • clawjelly

Oh wow… Thanks to this post that 4-year-old story made it back to the 4th place in the top-read-stories from OE24. And that’s amazing considering the competition it has to fight off:
    – “Brasilian girl strips in Berlins subway”
    – “Kokain marked with swastikas confiscated”
    – “Man dies after penis enlargement”

I didn’t know that Austria has such classy newspapers… :D

    • Bev

HA!!  Looks like I need to start reading the Austrian papers — awesome!

OMG! That’s Plinkey, my albino goldfish I accidentally slushed last year.

Glad to see he’s all grown up now.

No PSD…  That is a special super duper sized movie shark….

Why they used a pic from the movie before the photo got changed on the original OE24 site is beyond me.

  • Snooglebum

Fake.  My girlfriend can do that.

  • http://rodatradar.blogspot.com/ ZealotZebra

A total misunderstanding. That is a very, very small surfer.

You can almost say he’s… bite sized.

Shouldn’t the shark have more teeth than that?

  • Windspear

base on the previous comments, I take it that this is an editorial disaster? Its an awesome PS composite.

  • Lynz

I thought Megalodons were extinct…..went out with the dinosaurs?

Wow… that’s a big shark, even for a 1.5 million year old Megalodon.
    Nicely Photoshopped though.

Shows that Austrians CAN handle Photoshop, but, being in a landlocked country (no, it’s not that one with the kangaroos…), they have no idea how large sharks actually are…
