RiksTV: Big Hill – Little Skills

With barely 60 krone left in his pocket, Lars foolishly opted for the digital fantasy photo at Oslo City, and could only drool while his friends feasted away on Pølser at the food court.

Help me out here.  Part of me says this is not a PSD.  But then I look at how the right sleeve hangs perfectly parallel with those grandstand seats, or how the vest appears so flat and layered on top of him… not to mention the weirdness going on with that gloved left fist, (is that a slit?), and I am convinced otherwise.

Thanks Lisi. You can see the original on the Sport Orf website.

John Frieda: Immacu-lame

For any man who has ever wondered how it feels to be a horny male black widow spider…

Yikes!  Talk about misdirection.  Because why else would you have a model give the camera such a stink-eye as this if not to distract from the creepy way her head appears to be turned?  It’s obviously a cut-n-paste from an entirely different shot where her head and shoulders face the lens straight on.  And while her “perfectly smooth hair” was no doubt the idea behind this perfectly smooth cutout, it’s a PSD because it’s simply too perfect, and nobody’s gonna buy either the product or the premise when it’s such an obvious fake.

Thanks Dee!

Photoshop Quiz: Vogue: Adele is that you?

Over the last month we’ve received the following Vogue cover that features Adele. A number of you mentioned that the photo was seriously edited to a point where the body and face barely resembles Adele.

Vote below as to whether you think Vogue took the Photoshopping a little too far.

Maje: Horse Buggy

Strange?  Perhaps.  But Giselle promised herself following the divorce that she would never again waste another precious moment with a horse’s ass, and she intended to keep that promise.

Either the rear third of this animal was simply too hideous to print, or the faux Roman column in the background was much too beautiful to hide.  The result is the same either way: a graphic artist whose skills are much too lacking to warrant a paycheck.

Thanks Dan. The original was found in Moms Magazine.

J Crew: Put That Big Guy Away

I think the guys over J Crew might have gotten a little too excited this week.

The original can be found on the J Crew site (The image has since been removed) . This image was sent to us by multiple people and we are going off of a lot evidence that without a doubt proves the existence of this disaster.

Corals Bridal: Graphicus Interruptus

As the deadline for the fashion show grew near, Francois’ ever-increasing dose of Ambien began to take its toll.

No mystery here.  Girls have been doing this with clothing for decades.  When I was a kid, it was paper cutout dresses with folding tabs to mix and match on a flat cardboard Barbie doll.  Now it’s Google image search and Photoshop.  The only real mystery is why it got left seemingly incomplete.  Hey, maybe this was the enigmatic combo that finally activated the Stargate!

Thanks Ena for finding the strangest disaster I think we’ve ever had. You can see the original on the Coral Bridal site.

Ann Taylor: Minor Misstep

Not a PSD. This is a magician’s trick. And, yes, while their placement is backwards, the feet are fake and intended to distract the audience from noticing the two dwarf assistants wrangling a Bengal tiger into position under her dress for the ‘big reveal.’

The contour of this model’s right leg is clearly visible all the way from hip to about the mid-shin area, where I am fairly certain no joints exist that would explain how her right foot suddenly veers radically to the right and appears where it does.  Not sure exactly what occurred to cause this weird anomaly, but it’s wrong and may even be causing me seizures.

Thanks Emily for finding all those great Ann Taylor disasters! You can see the original on the Ann Taylor site.

Semmering Xaver: Parking Violation

Nestled along the tranquil shores of Lake Renfield, the Transylvania Inn B&B has been voted the world’s top honeymoon destination for newlywed vampires.

Apparently, not only do vampires lack a reflection, but neither do their vehicles. Still, it’s mean to rag on a 9-year-old just beginning to play around with Photoshop, and this is pretty darn good work for a 9-year-old, so that is what I choose to believe is going on here. In fact, I’m gonna reward this promising young GA with a trip to the zoo!

Thanks Michael! You can find the original on the Semmering Xaver site (click through the navigation).
