RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH: BLESSED BLING

Do not trifle with the Church, my son.  Wristwatches are not the only things I can cause to disappear.

If the Russian Orthodox Church had spent a mere fraction of the 30K Euros this watch cost on hiring a better graphics artist, it could have avoided the embarrassment of this scandal by ‘shopping out the reflection of the watch as well as the watch itself!  I like to think everything happens for a reason, and it’s goofs like this which convince me there is indeed a God, and God has a blast exposing this exact kind of hypocrisy.

    These guys are CEOs. Forget that they wear ceremonial suits and hats, CEOs are what they are. They get there because they have a CEO mentality. Somehow CEOs have a need to sport eat-my-dust bling. It’s a CEO thing, born of the playgrounds of the world. Priests take a bad career choice and make the best of it, just like the rest of us. They even have a codified saying about it: Render … unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.

    I have a theory that, across many religions, the wearing of asininely silly hats and clothing is meant to give the impression that the calculating driven upwardly-clawing wearer is a silly innocent simpleton lost in a fog of devotion to an invisible man in the sky. However, reflections really really suck.

      Ugh, reading a woman’s theory about anything can be more traumatizing and vomiting-inducing than the disaster presented above. Did this come straight from your vag­ina? Did you create 5 alternative accounts to like your own comment or are there 5 people stupid enough to agree with that babbling?

        Reading your posts puts me in the identical mental and emotional state that I experience when I rise up from the toilet after evacuating my bowels and give the results a cursory glance before flushing and washing my hands.

      I know, right?  I wait FOREVER for good PSD’s about politicians and religion to come in so I can write something really edgy and controversial and get someone’s sanctimonious panties all up in a bunch, and this beauty pops up, and all I get is one lousy rant from poor old David on here.

      I wonder what Rick Santorum’s up to today.  Oh, well…

    Not a PSD.  I’ve seen that watch advertised.  It comes with a state-of-the-art “cloaking device” that engages automatically upon detection of larcenous thought patterns.

    Blimey. You’d think, after the Communists went out of their way to destroy the Russian Orthodox Church the first time, that those guys would have learned to be a bit more circumspect about this kind of thing…
