GIFI BOUTIQUE: JUMPIN’ JIVE

Your fly is open! Your fly is open! Mommy, Billy’s fly is open!

Judging by the shadows alone, I’m inclined to think that there probably is a kid bouncing inside this trampoline, which appears not to be anywhere out of doors by the look of the fold wrinkles at regular intervals on the fake “lawn.”  The “family,” whose shadows seem to be the result of a second sun, if they exist at all, are more than suspect, and look more to be pointing at the “stream to nowhere” than to young Billy here.

Thanks David. You can find the original on the GiFi.fr site.

I’m seriously trying to figure out if there’s anything RIGHT about this image.

    • Waldobaby

You of all people should recognize that this is a tribute to Ed Wood on the 100th anniversary of his birth. They don’t get more exquisite than this.

Billy also has the unique ability to cast no shadow on fake grass, and an upside-down shadow on trampolines.  Maybe the bizarre offspring of a vampire and a Klein bottle?

  • Yo_momma

I love the fake stream bordered by fake rocks that meanders through the fake lawn only to stop under the trampoline.  I lack Norman Mclane’s perseverance and would just say that there is no aspect of this image that is other than a design, execution or Photoshop disaster.

Bad PS on astroturf, can the fakery get worst?

This must be “Where’s Waldo? For Mental Retards.”

I disagree that there was anyone jumping on the trampoline, it would’ve taken too much talent to mask any one jumping on the trampoline out with all of that mesh.

I think that somewhere, someone has a parking lot, several hundred square yards of astroturf,  and an inordinate amount of time on their hands, who made a before shot of their outdoor setting and an after shot with an empty trampoline. This person then tried to blend those two images together, badly. To me, you can see a passage of time in the shadows of the trampoline and some of  the “plant life” in the background, also there’s smudging around the fringes of the netting in the center. I’m guessing that the parking lot wasn’t quite lush enough, so they augmented reality a bit there with a few plants that fail to cast shadows at all.

I want to see the next second in this setting where the kid jumping on the trampoline get’s his arm ripped out of his body from having it outside the netting as gravity bitchslaps him to the ground.

Close examination of the plants’ shadows could cause extreme mental stress.  Do not attempt this at home.

That’s going to be a very painful landing…

Note also that the girl in the foreground doesn’t appear to be casting a shadow…

The lawn in the background looks more real (and has a gradient), so that may have been derived from a real photograph that was ‘shopped into the scene. There’s even what appears to be a bit of the real floor sneaking in bottom right. As Norman says, pretty much every aspect of this image screams “FAKE!”

Tatooine is a dry land, and since the Empire killed uncle Owen and aunt Beru, their moisture farm went down, the locals must rely on fake lawn.

This must be the kid that jumps faster than his shadow …

Here is the red circled image.

Wait… I’m still not seeing it.  ;)  LOL!

    • Fenevad

And yet somehow it missed the most egregious ones…

  • Barbara

The shadow of the trampoline is way too crisp…and the boy’s shadow on the trampoline looks mysteriously like a skull and cross bones indicating some severe poison!

Young Billy’s shadow is a proper gem!

This has been a rather labor intensive PsD.  I look at the picture, read a comment, realize I missed a mistake, scroll back up to the picture to check it out, then scroll back down to the comments, read the next comment, realize I missed a mistake, scroll back up to the picture to check it out, then scroll back down to the comments, read the next comment  and so on and so on…. My index finger (my official scrolling finger) is starting to cramp up.

  • Fenevad

I love that the shadow of the child is inverted and has it’s head where it’s rear should be and vice versa. That about sums it up…

  • Fenevad

Ugg. it’s -> its in both cases.

Did anyone see the decapitated tree?

Obviously a family of super-heroes photographed on their home planet.

Son weighs no more than a fly and adheres to mesh ala spider-man (though having poked his right hand through has made him pee his pants); mom has awesome levitation boots, and sis is invisible to the sun.
