PERMETAL GOLD: PUMP THE VOLUME

Not everything at Costco is worth the hassle of buying in bulk.

Photoshop Disaster

This ad may be giving potential customers the wrong message, like this is how much you’ll need to clean a standard size oven face and backsplash.  I also hope there’s nothing flammable in the ingredients, otherwise a much more dangerous message presents itself with regard to product placement.

Thanks Mega. You can see the original Labud site.

That is just the super-sized large jumbo display model bottle of Permetal Gold, not the real one you get at the store.

That is called perspective… actually the bottle’s height is about 20 cm but is flying infront of the camera. that is why its called “SU-permetal” and it comes from planet kripton

Cinderella got one of those from her step mother!

The problem here is not a PS problem such as one from some artiste’s lack of ability or time. This is not perfect but it is certainly acceptable. It shows the product. It shows its domain. It implies the kind of person who would use it. It does not jar the eye unpleasantly.

What’s the problem? It ain’t reality; it’s sales. Why is stepping away from total reality a disaster? Someone needs to somehow define “P S Disaster” somewhere.

    • Bobo

On this blog often even total reality is considered to be a disaster.

Actually, compared with a lot we’ve seen, this isn’t bad. The main problem is that the kitchen was shot wide-angle and the bottle was not. So the kitchen and bottle are in two different visual spaces.

  • Bev

What is this, a kitchen for ants?

  • Barbara

No one would have any issue with this photo if they hadn’t tried to make it look like it was sitting on the counter. If they had dropped it down in front of the stove, we wouldn’t be having this discussion. It would just look like a kitchen with product placed over the photo.

thats pretty much right. maybe “the hand” could have appear here (I think they call him “thing”). in real proportion grabbing it, and it would be a good add. I find it pleasing graphically.

No PSD! This is clearly a product intended for giant maids working in regular-sized kitchens.

I agree with Barbara – the error here was make it look like it’s sitting on the counter.
