Harper Realty: Subtle Political Commentary

I wasn’t sure there was anything faked about this realty sign until I saw Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper actually smiling.

Hey readers, here’s a fun anecdote. Last Christmas, I went to see Sherlock Holmes and Harper and his brother sat behind my family in the theatre. Here are two things I learned: one, he’s surprisingly short. Two, his brother doesn’t know to shut up when Robert Downey Jr. is talking.

And yes, in Canada you do just run into the Prime Minister. Don’t get me started on the time I ran into the Attorney General while playing paintball.

I assume this is deliberate, as it is satirical.
    Pretty scary, though!

If I see a smile that big I just want to run away…..

Umm, yeah, I would not class this as a disaster in any way, Well, maybe in the claim that the Prime Minister is trying to sell the country.

Actually, PM Harper is 6’2″. Not exactly short.

    “Possibly because it was published
by one of the smaller presses, this essential study of Asian investment in
Canadian real estate hasn’t received the attention it deserves.

    In an evenhanded and well-written
assessment of the impact of East Asian wealth on this country, Gutstein
documents the startling case that without our becoming aware of it, we have
become squatters in our own land.

This is unfortunate. But don’t blame the Oriental investor. They only did what we invited them to do.”

Repost from Chris Hedges (Pulitzer Prize winner and former war
correspondent for the New York Times) on Canada’s right-wing neocon Prime
    Minister Stephen Harper:

Harper is a poster child for corporate malfeasance and
corporate power, just sort of dismantling everything that’s good about Canada. So he’s the kind of species that rises to
political power and is utterly subservient to corporate interests at the
    expense of the citizenry.

Yeah, he’s a pretty venal figure.
