Lord & Taylor: Oh lord…

They say you’re the sum of your parts – but where you get those parts is up to you and your photoshopper.

Photoshop Disasters

Let’s hear your thoughts on this one, readers. Do we have a model example of Frankenstein’s monster, or are this woman’s proportions just a touch misleading in spots?

Thanks Rhet. You can see the original on the Lord & Taylor.

I see a large outfit over a small woman.

If the suit makes a thin woman look fat, imagine what it does to larger sizes. Designers need to learn that you can’t just expand the waistline & expect it to work for plus sizes. For example, shirts with elastic band bottoms tent out & are incredibly unflattering on anyone who doesn’t live on a diet of tears & air.

The photo must show what that weird and rare fabric “crotchet” does to one’s proportions. That’s why no one ever uses it for dresses any more. Customers overwhelmingly prefer crochet.

The model looks pregnant. Pretty advanced, too.

No, it’s the actual pattern of the garment that makes her look like this. The seat of the shorts goes right up against the crotch, and due to the bagginess makes it look like her torso is way shorter than it is. This isn’t a photoshop disaster, this is a fashion disaster.

  • Peaches N Dreams

Pretty bizarre… in addition to the horrible and expensive “romper,” her head is out of proportion to her body… and her midsection out of proportion to her skinny legs (she does look pregnant).

Even the model’s facial expression says, “WTF am I wearing? I’m so firing my agent.”

  • Solli

No PSD, just a Fashion Disaster and a model of a normal weight. Just because she isn’t ultra slim doesn’t mean it’s a PSD.

  • Andulamb

The waist of the outfit is much higher than the model’s waist. Not a PSD, but the model does need a sandwich.

  • JarFil

Skinny model, she needs a sandwich and a workout (collarbones instead of boobs? ugh!), the silly shoes don’t help a bit, and that outfit is just awful. On the other hand, maybe some skeleton leg fetishist would be thrilled with the “torso amputee” effect, you never know.

You mean you don’t like to wear your Dolce Vita gran’ma panties hiked up like Steve Erkel’s trousers?

Rather unflattering garment…Makes her look very dumpy.
